Important disclaimers for all advertisements
You must include the following disclaimers to ensure compliance with legal advertising ethics:
- "This is an advertisement." All advertising materials must be clearly identified as such.
- "No attorney-client relationship." Include a statement that your company is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and that no attorney-client relationship is formed by using your service.
- "No guarantees." State that past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
- "Responsible Attorney." All communications must include the name and contact information of the lawyer or law firm responsible for the content.
- "Not a lawyer referral service." The service should be structured as a flat-fee advertising platform rather than a referral service. If it is a referral service, it must meet specific jurisdictional rules and cannot charge a referral fee. In most states, charging a non-lawyer for a client referral is prohibited.
